Come and see!

unnamed

One morning shortly after I left my first husband, I stormed into my parents’ kitchen, gritting my teeth and raising my fists into the air.  “That’s does it!” I declared. “I am going to build a website! I am going to put all the resources in one place! I don’t know how or when, but I WILL DO THIS!”

For days, I had been combing the Internet for something, anything for spouses of porn addicts and turning up with virtually nothing. From that frustration, a dream was born. I knew I couldn’t do it on my own though. I knew I needed a ton of help, financing, etc., but I was determined about the solution. I knew there were resources out there; I just needed to find them. But finding them for myself was not enough. I wanted to make it easy for others following in my tracks to find them too–to help them to avoid the hassle of the hunt. And now, IT’S HERE! It’s happening. Thanks to generous funding by Morality in Media in Washington, D.C., I have finally been given my chance.

We launched the website at the Coalition to End Sexual Exploitation Summit last night! Come and see! The site is still a baby, of course. I have a lot of tweaking to do. Plus I only have a list of 400 resources to add, and I’ve only gotten through 75 so far. But it’s coming along. Visit, browse, and tell me what you think!

As it happened, my divorce dropped me into a movement. But at that time, it was only in its infancy. We have come so far since then! I have spent almost three years learning, networking, and collecting the best resources I could find on porn addiction recovery and sexual exploitation. Now they will all be in one place, just like I imagined. I hope the site will be a huge resource for the movement and for anyone looking for help, resources, or information.

This week, in addition to my scheduled weekend post, I will be writing about the CESE summit meeting I attended this weekend. So stay tuned!

  1. Melody,

I’m catching up on my e-mails and just saw this post. This site must fill a huge need. I forwarded the post to my therapist; I have a feeling she’ll know folks who will want to e-visit.

    Hope you’re well.

Now to read more of your posts.
