WRAP Resources: Life After Lust

The air is getting cooler, and as I catch the scent of autumn leaves on the breeze several images come to mind. School buses, backpacks, trick-or-treating and … white ribbons. White Ribbon Against Pornography Week, which always begins on the last Sunday of October, is 10/29 – 11/4 this year. And to help celebrate, I’d… Read More WRAP Resources: Life After Lust

Life is My Canvas

So … my first attempt at the “Blended Family” project … Remember how I said I’ve spent several moments standing in the art aisle at random craft stores staring blankly into space? It’s like I’m paralyzed with fear that if I invest in new paints and brushes and a pretty canvas, I’ll just screw it… Read More Life is My Canvas

“Blended With Love”

One afternoon as I was driving with my little boy, suddenly he piped up from the backseat: “Hey Mom. We have different last names, right? So which one of us isn’t part of the family? You or me?” The question hit me like a ton of bricks. I explained that of course we are both… Read More “Blended With Love”

For the lonely mothers in the summertime

I can’t believe it’s that time again! My 3rd-grader announced from the top of the stairs this morning that they only have 6 weeks of school left. Seriously?! In honor of the season, I’ve dug up  and refreshed a MamaC favorite. The original version, published on Power of Moms, was written in 2013. Enjoy!  I’ve always anticipated the… Read More For the lonely mothers in the summertime

A Facebook Marriage (Keep the Smile On Or Else)

I couldn’t have said it better myself … so I won’t. Go read it! Lisa rocks. 🙂 Lessons From the End of a Marriage I didn’t join Facebook until after my divorce. Is It Time to Leave?

Guest post by    Karen Phelps Editor’s note by Melody/MamaC: People always ask me, “How do I know if divorce is the answer?” or “How did you know?” I never know what to say. Everyone is different. And every relationship is different. I just don’t think there is a cookie cutter answer. However, several months… Read More Is It Time to Leave?

We all have our battles and I've had my fair share. But if I can make it through this madness (addiction, divorce, abuse, single parenting, co-parenting, molestation, infertility, autoimmune disease, connective tissue disorders ... you name it, I've been there), then you can too. You are stronger than you think!

Slowly but surely, we can convert these experiences into FUEL for better things ahead. We can teach our kids. We can inspire those around us for good. And we can change the world.
